Every Cafe Has Coffee. Ours Has a Reason.
It Started With One Cup Too Many
Every cafe has coffee. Ours has a backstory, and it begins with a habit that got completely out of hand.

The Habit That Started It All
City Side Cafe began with one person and an unreasonable amount of coffee.
For our founder, coffee was the constant through everything. The study sessions, the long work days, the late nights when the good ideas finally decided to show up. Every cup was a small pause in the middle of a busy life.
And somewhere between all those cups, a question stuck:
What if a cafe treated every cup like it mattered and every table like it belonged to you?
That question refused to go away. It grew roots, and eventually it grew walls.
From Question to Queen Street
Fast forward to 2025, and the question finally got its answer: 8 Queen Street West, downtown Brampton. What started over steaming mugs is now a living, breathing room with an espresso machine that rarely gets a break.
And the best part? The place doesn’t belong to one person anymore. It belongs to every regular who claims a corner, every friend who gathers here, and every story that starts with “let’s grab a coffee.”
The Job Is Simple. Make It Worth the Walk.
Our mission fits on a coffee sleeve: make every visit memorable. Not fancy. Memorable. The quiet solo coffee that resets your day, the catch-up that runs long, the corner table where a big idea finally clicks. That’s what we’re here for, and everything we do is built around it.
Discover Our Purpose
What Memorable Actually Means
It was never just about the coffee. A great cup is the starting point, but the moment around it is the product. The conversation it fuels, the idea it sparks, the ordinary Tuesday it quietly upgrades.
Some days that moment is a peaceful hour alone with your thoughts. Other days it’s a table of friends being slightly too loud, or a stranger who becomes a regular conversation. We make room for all of it.
And we sweat the small stuff on purpose. The warmth of the hello, the comfort of the chair, the temperature of the cup when it reaches your hand. Details are where “fine” becomes “I’m coming back.”
Our rules are short. No pretension. No settling for ordinary. If something can be a little better tomorrow than it was today, it will be.
So that’s the mission, honestly. Great coffee, moments worth remembering, for every single person who walks through our doors. See you at the counter.
Where the Beans Come From, and Why We're Picky
Every coffee bean has a story, and we’re nosy about ours. We buy directly from farmers we actually know, the kind of relationships where we’ve walked the hills the beans grew on and heard the stories behind them.
Then the beans come home to Ontario, where each batch gets roasted locally and fresh. No shipping containers full of stale stock, no mystery origins. Just a short trip from a farm we trust to a roaster we trust to your cup. Fussy? A little. Worth it? Taste and decide.

Every coffee we buy has to pass five tests. No exceptions, not even for a good price:
- Sustainability, because good coffee shouldn’t cost the ground it grows in
- Quality, because there’s no fixing a bad bean after the fact
- Long-Term Relationships, because loyalty beats bargaining
- Traceability, because we can tell you exactly where your cup came from
- Transparency, because if we can’t explain a decision, we shouldn’t be making it
